Speaking at the roundtable on World Tourism Day, under the motto Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism, he said that the sector is experiencing profound changes, with a more connected, informed and demanding tourist.

According to Bicá, it is no longer enough to have beautiful landscapes and heritage. We need to turn resources into experiences, tell stories and position them in the global and competitive digital space.

For the leader, preserving heritage is keeping languages, knowledge, dances, gastronomy and rituals alive. He pointed to the digitization of collections, augmented reality and interactive maps as ways to project the Island through a mobile phone.

He stressed that smart tourism is not only social networks, but an ecosystem that uses data and innovation to improve the experience of those who choose Nampula.
